NVIDIA is seeking an expert engineer to lead the analytical layer for comparing autonomous driving behavior against human driving baselines. This role involves developing systems to analyze driving metrics, automate pattern isolation, and forecast key performance indicators, blending data science and systems engineering in a safety-critical environment.
Requirements
- PhD with 4+ years, MS with 6+ years, or BS with 8+ years of experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong software engineering experience, especially in Python.
- Deep experience in statistical analysis, clustering/unsupervised ML, time-series analysis, regression testing systems, or data pipeline architecture.
- Proven record of building tooling that turns raw data into decision-quality signals.
- Comfort with large-scale driving datasets and experience with Spark or similar big-data tooling.
- Strong statistical intuition regarding correlation vs. causation and metric delta analysis.
- Technical leadership experience, including mentoring engineers and influencing cross-team decisions.
Responsibilities
- Develop systems that correlate metric divergence between autonomous and human driving with driving context.
- Automate pattern isolation by building clustering systems to identify candidate failure modes.
- Build the human-comparison-to-regression-evaluation pipeline end-to-end.
- Invest in on-road KPI forecasting and validate simulation-based evaluations.
- Set technical direction for human-comparison analytics and define the roadmap.
- Partner with MLE tools teams to ensure integration with existing data pipelines.
Benefits
- Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
