Apple is seeking a highly motivated engineer to join the Platform Architecture GPU Modeling Team, focusing on the development of next-generation GPU architectures for iPhone, iPad, and Mac products. The role involves creating and maintaining high-performance C++ models, collaborating with various teams to ensure model accuracy and feature validation.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience modeling GPUs, CPUs, or similar
- MS or PhD degree in related field
- Experience coding components such as processing cores, texturing units, caches, memory hierarchies, etc.
- Understanding of GPU/CPU architectures
- Experience debugging performance issues and correlating multiple models
- Understanding of data analysis tools such as: Tableau, pandas, Excel, matplotlib, etc.
- Experience working with cutting edge machine learning and/or graphics applications/games/benchmarks
- Troubleshooting skills
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain a high-performance C++ model of next-generation GPUs
- Code and debug a performance and functional model of the GPU
- Implement modern hardware features such as machine learning for AI, ray tracing, mesh shading, and more
- Work with the team to ensure model accuracy and feature validation
- Develop and utilize diverse tools for analyzing data generated by the models
- Collaborate with experienced architects, modeling engineers, compiler engineers, and software teams
