The Process Engineer for General Assembly at Tesla will focus on implementing and optimizing production methodologies in manufacturing operations. This role involves analyzing production processes, driving continuous improvement, and collaborating with various engineering teams to enhance manufacturability and quality.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physical Science, or equivalent experience
- 1-3 years of experience working in automotive manufacturing
- Demonstrated track record of Overall Equipment Effectiveness improvement activities
- Good understanding of Bill of Materials, Manufacturing Execution System, Specification Management, Change Point Management
- Experience working with high voltage electronics, testing and assembly processes
- Data analysis experience using tools like MySQL, Python, R, JMP, Minitab
- Strong problem-solving skills and aptitude for learning systems quickly
- Exceptional capacity for managing simultaneous activities and competing priorities
- Strong ability to work and communicate effectively with team and peers
Responsibilities
- Travel internationally and support Factory Acceptance Testing (FATs) to validate and ramp new production tool
- Develop expertise in manufacturing processes for their area and understand process capabilities through critical data analysis
- Analyze and optimize production processes to ensure safety while maximizing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
- Champion continuous improvement projects (CIP) to maximize yield, capacity, and capability
- Work closely with functional and electrical testing of products on the production line
- Diagnose issues found during the part manufacturing process and drive corrective action back to source
- Create and maintain Manufacturing Instructions, routings, and associated processes
- Support 24/7 production operations
