The Microsoft Purview team is seeking a Software Engineer to develop scalable data security features that help customers protect their data from exfiltration. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, understanding user requirements, and applying best practices in coding and security.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements
Responsibilities
- Designs, develops, and deploys scalable data security features, collaborating closely with cross-functional stakeholders
- Works with appropriate internal stakeholders to understand and determine customer/user requirements for a set of features
- Understands and provides feedback for proposals for architecture, with technical leadership from others
- Contributes to identifying dependencies, and incorporate them into the development of design documents
- Creates and implements code for a product, service, or feature, reusing code as applicable with minimal supervision
- Learns about and supports deployment to customers by following the correct measures to push features out
- Contributes to efforts to ensure the correct processes are followed to achieve a high degree of security, privacy, safety, and accessibility
- Applies best practices to build code based on well-established methods and secure design principles
- Works with partner teams to ensure a set of product features work well with the components of the partner team
