The role involves developing and optimizing high-speed, high-accuracy motion platforms while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to address complex control challenges in semiconductor inspection and metrology tools.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with custom actuator design and integration in high-performance mechatronics systems.
- Strong foundation in control theory, system identification, and dynamic modeling.
- Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink or Python for control algorithm development, simulation, and data analysis.
- Experience with advanced control techniques (e.g., robust, adaptive, optimal, or nonlinear control).
- Familiarity with hardware-in-the-loop testing and real-time control implementation.
- Enjoy working collaboratively and delivering high-quality results in fast-paced environments.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as dictated by business needs.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of advanced control algorithms for ultra-precision mechatronic systems.
- Architect and tune feedback and feedforward controllers for custom actuators, including magnetic, piezoelectric, and air-bearing platforms.
- Analyze system dynamics and performance, applying model-based control techniques to maximize throughput, stability, and accuracy.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with actuator designers, mechanical engineers, software developers, and optics teams to integrate control solutions.
- Support error budgeting, requirements definition, and design reviews with a focus on control system performance.
- Document control strategies, tuning procedures, and experimental results for multi-site engineering teams.
Benefits
