Job Description

Google is seeking a software engineer to develop high-quality code for Wear OS applications and watch faces. The role involves collaboration with product managers and design teams, focusing on performance optimization and user experience. This position offers opportunities to work on critical projects and switch teams as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Kotlin or Java), or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields (preferred).
  • Experience with Android or Wear OS development (preferred).
  • Experience with Jetpack Compose (preferred).
  • Experience with UI/UX design and development (preferred).
  • Experience with performance optimization and power management on mobile/wearable devices (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test high-quality code for Wear OS watch faces and applications using Kotlin/Java and other relevant technologies.
  • Collaborate with your software team, product managers, and design teams to implement requirements.
  • Debug, diagnose, and resolve complex technical issues, including performance and power optimization.
  • Contribute to and review technical design documents.
  • Manage own priorities within a given project.
