Job description

The Manufacturing Equipment Engineer will work within the Battery Enclosure team, focusing on operating, sustaining, and improving highly automated manufacturing equipment. The role requires a strong aptitude for learning and collaboration across various engineering disciplines, including PLC programming and robotics.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with PLC programming, troubleshooting and configuration
  • Experience commissioning and improving Equipment with a track record of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) improvement
  • Robotics maintenance, troubleshooting, optimization & teaching experience preferred
  • 3+ years in a highly automated, high volume manufacturing facility
  • Strong problem-solving skills and aptitude for learning systems quickly
  • Able to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
  • Strong ability to work and communicate effectively with team and peers

Responsibilities

  • Sustain 24 by 7 production operations through responding to and resolving breakdowns quickly and efficiently
  • Lead a cross functional TPM team and take on improvement projects to enhance factory performance
  • Develop and improve equipment validation procedures including calibration and qualification
  • Become Expert Level Trainer on all machines in assigned area and support maintenance team
  • Create, implement and improve Preventative and Predictive Maintenance documents and schedules
  • Program ladder logic and structured text on multiple PLC controller platforms
  • Participate in spare part analysis and inventory development
