Job description
The Display Systems Research group at Meta Reality Labs is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Scientist to focus on color perception in augmented reality displays. This two-year position involves pioneering research to address gaps in color science and enhance AR display technologies, with opportunities for high-impact publications.
Requirements
- Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a PhD in the field of Color Science, Vision Science, Computer Graphics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Demonstrated experience establishing end-to-end color calibration pipelines, including spectral characterization, gamma linearization, and psychophysical verification of display output.
- Proficiency in designing, conducting, and analyzing the results of psychophysical experiments related to visual perception, computer graphics, and/or display systems.
- Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
Responsibilities
- Work on topics in color perception to support research in AR head-mounted display technologies.
- Conceive and develop simulations and models of visual perception to help guide emerging AR display technologies.
- Design and conduct psychophysical experiments to quantify color perception in AR displays.
- Conduct psychophysical user studies on both benchtop testbeds and head-mounted prototypes.
- Collaborate and communicate with scientists and engineers across a variety of disciplines to design vision science studies in an applied context.
