Job description
Tesla is seeking a highly motivated Engineering Manager to lead a team of Mechanical, Electrical, and Structural engineers in Los Angeles. The role involves overseeing the design and engineering efforts for large-scale infrastructure projects, ensuring efficient execution from concept to production.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
- 10+ years in engineering management
- Experience managing multi-disciplinary scopes within A/E and 3rd party engineering design firms
- Ability to interact with leaders and executives on project status and need
- Willingness to travel to support infrastructure development in California and throughout North America (travel up to 20%)
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred – preference for CA, CO, NV, TX or open to reciprocity
- Experience working with codes and jurisdictions and be able to build strong relationships with external partners and AHJs
Responsibilities
- Overall owner of engineering design & execution for large scale infrastructure projects
- Build and lead a team of infrastructure engineers to support the needs of manufacturing, production, and facilities
- Seek to understand engineering chokepoints and roadblocks, finding solutions to remove obstacles for the team to perform efficiently
- Breakdown infrastructure requirements and optimize solutions based on cost and schedule
- Drive completion of permitting and construction documents including transmittals and RFI’s
- Responsible for engineering spends
- Coordinate key project schedule requirements with cross-functional peers for the overall schedule success of the project
- Identify resource requirements and highlight gaps and constraints across various stages for all projects
