Tesla is looking for a Structural Design Engineer to join their North America Infrastructure team in Los Angeles. The role involves designing structural systems, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and delivering scalable solutions for various innovative projects. Candidates should have a strong background in structural design and engineering, particularly in high-tech infrastructure.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or equivalent experience
- 5-7 years of experience in structural design and engineering
- Knowledge of software such as ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, RISA 3D, RAM Structural System, BIM/CAD modeling tools
- Advanced understanding of California and International Building Codes and structural design standards
- Proficiency in lateral and foundation design and related code requirements
- Experience in structural design of buildings for high-tech infrastructure
- Willingness to travel up to 20%
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred
Responsibilities
- Coordinate structural design on multidiscipline project teams
- Conduct structural analysis and design of various structural systems
- Make technical assumptions and draw conclusions based on engineering judgement
- Present design reviews to stakeholders and multi-discipline teams
- Complete field work independently or with the design team
- Provide planning estimates with limited scoping information
- Manage structural projects from estimating through construction
