Tesla is offering internships for Equipment Engineer and Process Engineer roles, starting in August or September 2026. Interns will work full-time on-site, focusing on equipment design, process optimization, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance manufacturing efficiency.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering or a related field
- Self-managed and committed to working in a fast-paced environment
- Hands-on experience is a must
- Professional and positive communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
- Knowledge of machining and manufacturing processes
- Proficient in CAD software (AutoCAD for Process Engineer, SolidWorks or similar for Manufacturing Equipment Engineer)
Responsibilities
- Design and own equipment to meet operation requirements and specifications
- Create equipment drawings, specs, quotes, and purchase requisitions
- Develop expertise in manufacturing processes through critical data analysis
- Support the Design for Manufacturing team utilizing DFM/DFA principles
- Analyze and optimize production processes to maximize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
- Design and modify line layouts, establish key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement using lean manufacturing tools
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Design, and Quality Engineering teams
- Develop FMEAs and Control Plans ensuring high levels of safety and process control
- Define and oversee Factory and Site Acceptance Tests (FAT/SAT) of manufacturing equipment
