Job description

Netflix is seeking a seasoned leader to manage the Content Promotion & Distribution Data Engineering team, which focuses on building robust data foundations for analytics, experimentation, and machine learning. The role involves leading a diverse team of data and ML engineers, collaborating with cross-functional partners, and driving impactful data products that enhance content promotion and distribution.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience leading data engineering teams, including managing managers and larger teams
  • Proven track record in innovative data engineering work in complex business domains
  • Comfortable owning the technical quality of analytics-focused and ML-focused data engineering
  • Strong communication skills to develop relationships with a variety of stakeholders
  • Experience leading a team of shared resources and prioritizing work across multiple domains
  • Deep technical expertise in data engineering aspects such as media processing pipelines and data warehousing
  • Familiarity with Big Data and cloud-based technologies

Responsibilities

  • Hire, lead, and develop a team of Data and ML Engineers
  • Own the end-to-end data foundations for Content Promotion & Distribution
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders to execute high-impact data products and tools
  • Steer impactful work on foundational data and media products
  • Provide technical vision and strategy for data modeling and storage
  • Balance near-term and long-term needs for infrastructure investments
  • Set and raise the technical bar for data engineering craft
  • Drive alignment in ambiguity and clarify trade-offs
  • Mentor the team through observation, coaching, and feedback
  • Build relationships across a wide network of stakeholders
