Job description

As a Business Analyst in the Strategy & Corporate Finance Practice at McKinsey, you will engage in client projects, applying valuation principles and strategic thinking to analyze business problems. Your role will involve financial benchmarking, due diligence, and developing recommendations to help clients make informed decisions in high-stakes situations.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree with 1+ years of work experience after completing your degree or a master’s degree
  • 1+ years of strategy, corporate finance, valuation, M&A or due diligence experience in a consulting firm, investment bank, or major corporation
  • Outstanding record of academic achievement with a strong record of leadership in an academic, professional or extracurricular setting
  • Demonstrated experience or strong interest in the investing industry
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, including financial statement analysis, financial modeling, and risk assessment
  • Demonstrated aptitude for analytics and excel fluency with exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
  • Intellectual curiosity, creative thinking and problem-solving mindset
  • Adaptability and openness to collaborate in a flexible environment
  • Sensitivity on social responsibility and ambition to have a real impact on clients and on our communities

Responsibilities

  • Gathering and analyzing information, formulating and testing hypotheses, and developing recommendations to leadership
  • Developing frameworks to analyze business problems using qualitative and quantitative approaches
  • Conducting extensive due diligence work, including collecting historical deal-related information and analyzing data
  • Identifying risks, conducting competitor analysis, financial analysis, and valuation
  • Consulting on multiple client engagements and working with several colleagues and clients across a range of industry areas
