Tesla is looking for a Technical Program Manager to join the Manufacturing Engineering, Energy Products team. This role involves driving program execution, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring successful manufacturing line launches while managing project schedules and budgets.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in a mix of engineering and project management
- Experience in technical program or project management, ideally with multiple delivered projects of medium to large sized capital equipment systems ($1M-$25M+)
- Proven experience coordinating between technical and non-technical team members effectively, and across multiple time zones
- Experience with project management tools (MS Project, JIRA, etc.)
- Experience leading a team in a complex construction, production, and/or manufacturing environment
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience
Responsibilities
- Manage cross-functional teams to ensure successful manufacturing line launches across Tesla locations, collaborating with global teams to develop advanced automation equipment
- Create, maintain, and communicate schedules and plans for manufacturing projects, covering process development, validation, line design, equipment fabrication, FAT, SAT, SOP, and shipping
- Coordinate build milestones with Manufacturing Engineering, Construction, Facilities, and Production teams
- Track and report equipment readiness, project status, blockers, and changes, ensuring clear communication with stakeholders and senior leadership
- Monitor project costs, drive cost management improvements, and ensure projects stay within budget
- Provide technical leadership and project management expertise to solve key program challenges while motivating teams to complete critical tasks
- Drive collaboration across internal and cross-functional teams to meet deadlines and deliver results within time and resource constraints
