Job description
Netflix is seeking a Full Stack Engineer (L5) for the Games Social Experiences team, responsible for creating social features across various platforms. The role involves building backend services and client-side UI, focusing on real-time social systems and product innovation.
Requirements
- A full-stack engineer comfortable building backend services and polished UI across multiple platforms.
- Production experience building for at least two of the following platforms: TV UI, Android, iOS, and Web.
- Experience architecting distributed back-end services and scaling systems for high availability.
- Demonstrates GenAI fluency and uses AI-assisted engineering tools.
- A self-starter who thrives in ambiguity and can identify high-leverage opportunities.
- Thoughtful problem-solver considering trade-offs across platforms, latency, and user experience.
- Effective collaborator with strong communication skills.
- Strong coding skills across multiple languages and technology stacks (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Kotlin, Swift, server-side Java/Kotlin).
- Cares about the quality, performance, and accessibility of the product.
Responsibilities
- Design and build social features end-to-end, from backend APIs and data models to client-side UI.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering partners.
- Architect maintainable, performant, cross-platform code with effective documentation.
- Drive consistency and simplicity across client and service codebases.
- Write automated tests and architect code for testability.
- Stay updated on cutting-edge technologies and modernize the stack.
- Leverage and champion AI-assisted engineering tools and practices.
