Job description

The Service Engineering team at Tesla is looking for a Technical Program Manager (TPM) to ensure new energy products are ready for the field before launch. The role involves leading serviceability reviews, planning field trials, analyzing fleet data, and coordinating service readiness across multiple teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Data Science, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience in product engineering, service engineering, field quality, or technical program management
  • Demonstrated experience in product design/development, manufacturing, testing and validation, root cause analysis, or technical program management
  • Comfortable interpreting firmware logs, telemetry data, and diagnostic outputs
  • SQL proficiency for fleet data mining and analysis
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and firmware code schematics
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Experienced with Jira, Confluence, and cross-functional program tracking
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive alignment in a fast-paced environment
  • Up to 15% travel may be required

Responsibilities

  • Lead serviceability reviews of new residential energy products by analyzing CAD, mechanical drawings, and electrical schematics
  • Plan and execute installation pilots, field trials, and service validation exercises
  • Develop service documentation, training content, commissioning instructions, and replacement workflows
  • Analyze fleet and service data using SQL, dashboards, statistical tools, and structured reporting
  • Own early-life issue tracking and root cause resolution
  • Drive service readiness activities across global service, tooling, training, field operations, and platform teams
  • Support global service teams with troubleshooting workflows and diagnostic procedures
  • Lead fleet-wide service campaigns at scale, including safety recalls and field retrofits
