Job description

Meta is seeking a Research Scientist Intern with expertise in human visual perception, AR display technologies, and computational modeling. The role involves conducting research to understand human visual perception and translating findings into product architecture and design.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a PhD in Vision Science, Perceptual Psychology, Computational Neuroscience, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or related field
  • Experience with psychophysical, computational, or statistical approaches to perception
  • Experience designing and conducting human behavioral experiments
  • Experience creating rapid prototype scientific software and work with hardware
  • Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
  • Intent to return to degree program after completion of the internship/co-op

Responsibilities

  • Build and analyze datasets of visual input during naturalistic behavior
  • Design and conduct psychophysical experiments
  • Develop computational and statistical models of visual perception
  • Leverage AI workflows across the entire research, development, and prototyping stack
  • Translate research findings into guidance for product architecture and design
  • Experience presenting research findings to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with researchers and engineers
