Job description

As an Integration Engineer on Tesla's Autonomy team, you'll work at the intersection of AI, robotics, and systems integration, contributing to advanced technologies in autonomous vehicles and humanoid robotics. Your role involves software development, system-level problem solving, and collaboration across teams to ensure seamless performance in autonomy features and safety systems.

Requirements

  • Experience developing in C/C++, including modern standards (C++14/17/20), multithreading, and Python; familiarity with CUDA or OpenCL is a strong plus
  • Solid understanding of embedded systems architecture and real time software design principles
  • Working knowledge of computer vision, machine learning, and their practical applications in real world systems
  • Experience with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, Ethernet, and TCP/IP
  • Proficient in Linux based software development, with additional experience in embedded Linux environments and cross compilation toolchains considered a plus
  • Strong analytical thinking, debugging skills, and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly across teams
  • Experience working with camera-based perception systems, image quality pipelines, or sensor integration is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Write, debug, and maintain robust C/C++ software for the Autopilot and humanoid robot software stack
  • Integrate Autopilot features and controls with user interfaces and other vehicle systems
  • Develop and integrate driver monitoring, cabin sensing, and active safety features across multiple autonomy modes and regional variants
  • Integrate Vision Language Model based pipelines for in-cabin perception
  • Develop and iterate on new features through simulation, validation, and fleet data analysis
  • Bring up Autonomy features on new vehicle and compute platforms, including robotaxi and next-generation hardware
  • Collaborate on regulatory compliance and homologation requirements across global markets
  • Optimize feature effectiveness while minimizing power consumption; provide performance data and feedback to hardware and manufacturing teams
  • Drive code modernization, improve test coverage, and maintain high software quality standards across the integration codebase

Benefits

  • Employees at Tesla are often offered day-one coverage with multiple medical options (some at $0 paycheck cost), dental/vision, company HSA contributions, a 401(k) match, and equity programs. Most roles also include paid time off and holidays, family-building support, employee assistance, commuter and childcare benefits, and access to discounts and wellness programs.
