Netflix is seeking an experienced engineer to join the Membership & Monetization Platform (MMP) team, which manages the commerce backbone for ~330 million members globally. The role involves building resilient, high-scale distributed systems and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance commerce experiences that drive growth.
Requirements
- 9+ years of experience building resilient, high-scale, low-latency distributed systems in production.
- Experience dealing with correctness problems: race conditions, eventual consistency, distributed transactions.
- Platform mindset to translate vague business directives into scalable solutions.
- Ability to thrive in cross-functional environments and communicate technical trade-offs to non-engineering partners.
- End-to-end ownership of projects from design through production operations.
Responsibilities
- Work across product-facing features impacting acquisition and retention.
- Partner with product managers, designers, and data scientists to build commerce experiences.
- Tackle distributed systems challenges such as race conditions and consistency guarantees.
- Evolve infrastructure to support Netflix's expanding commerce surface.
- Participate in on-call rotation for Tier 0 services, ensuring production reliability.
