Job description
Netflix is seeking an early-stage PhD student to join their streaming algorithms team for a summer internship focused on enhancing the scalability and quality of Live streaming systems. The role involves interdisciplinary research in streaming technologies, computer networking, and encoding technologies.
Requirements
- Currently an early-stage PhD student
- Experience with research projects in network measurement, algorithms related to network performance, content delivery, or encoding technology
- Exhibit a bias to action and willingness to take smart risks
- Experience with applying statistics and experimentation in research projects is a big plus
- Experience with video is a big plus
Responsibilities
- Assist in enhancing the scalability of the Live streaming system
- Help evolve the system architecture across the entire streaming path
- Conduct controlled field experiments to validate improvements
