Job description
As a Training and Support Engineer on the DesignTech team, you will be the primary contact for engineers using CAD and PLM tools at Tesla. Your role involves delivering training, resolving technical issues, and managing software access to ensure effective engineering operations in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience supporting CAD/PLM tools in an enterprise environment
- Hands-on experience with one or more of: CATIA V5, 3DEXPERIENCE/ENOVIA
- Familiarity with PDM/PLM concepts such as BOM management, revision control, change management, and collaborative spaces
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose software and license-related issues
- Experience using Jira or equivalent ticketing systems
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver training sessions for CAD and PLM tools to engineers across NA, EU, and APAC sites
- Maintain a self-service knowledge base on Confluence with how-to guides, troubleshooting runbooks, and access procedures
- Coordinate with vendors such as Dassault Systèmes to schedule and deliver onsite and remote training programs
- Diagnose and resolve issues across CAD and PLM platforms, including 3DEXPERIENCE (ENOVIA) and CATIA V5
- Troubleshoot license server failures, software installation errors, performance degradation, and data management issues
- Manage and provision access to collaborative spaces and other engineering tools in accordance with access policy
- Escalate complex platform issues to software vendors and follow through to resolution
