Tesla is seeking a motivated Process Engineer to enhance battery cell manufacturing processes. This role involves developing and optimizing manufacturing processes, conducting experiments, and collaborating with various teams to transition new battery designs into production.

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience
• 4+ years relevant equivalent work experience
• Experience and knowledge of Li-ion battery chemistry, cell assembly, and manufacturing processes strongly preferred
• Experience with web handling, roll-to-roll processing strongly preferred
• Knowledge of MySQL, Python / R and JMP / Minitab
• Ability to successfully manage multiple projects and meet deliverable deadlines
• People management experience is a plus
• Strong written, verbal, presentation, and organizational skills
• Deep understanding of engineering fundamentals

• Drive development of new/innovative manufacturing processes from proof of concept through to full scale production
• Plan, execute, and support DoEs to characterize boundary conditions and optimize processes
• Perform statistical analysis and report data for trials and DoEs
• Develop, own and update process documentation such as manufacturing instructions, OCAPs, PFMEA, etc.
• Create and maintain SPC charts for new processes and cell designs
• Provide on-call support for pilot lines
• May manage activities of engineering technicians or other engineers
• Champion continuous improvement projects and standardization
• Develop and manage PFMEA risk assessments
