Job description
Netflix is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join the Content Finance DSE team, where you will design and build scalable data pipelines and products that support financial planning and decision-making. Your work will directly impact content budgeting, investment strategies, and financial accuracy within the organization.
Requirements
- Proficient in at least one major programming language (e.g., Java, Scala, Python) and comfortable with SQL.
- Strong data modeling skills to design scalable and future-proof data models.
- Understanding of integrating with upstream and downstream systems and reasoning about data flows.
- Strong product mindset focused on end users and decision-making.
- Background in distributed data processing, software engineering of data services, or data modeling and warehousing.
- Familiarity with big data technologies such as Spark or Flink.
- Strong attention to data quality, reliability, and correctness.
- Curiosity about leveraging modern technologies, including GenAI.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own scalable data pipelines and products for Content Finance.
- Support planning cycles by providing data for content budget allocation and investment strategies.
- Ensure financial results are finalized quickly and accurately.
- Define modern data engineering practices and establish strong data foundations.
- Influence the use of GenAI in the data engineering ecosystem.
