Job description
The Facilities Instrumentation Engineer will manage the lifecycle of instrumentation systems, ensuring operational reliability and compliance. This role involves collaboration with various teams to drive continuous improvement and support both daily operations and future projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering (or equivalent technical qualification)
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in industrial instrumentation, with demonstrated success in maintenance, CMMS integration, and project execution
- Proficiency with CMMS platforms (e.g., SAP) and experience in data migration, tagging, and asset hierarchy setup
- Strong technical writing skills with a proven ability to create clear, actionable SOPs and technical documentation
- Experience with instrumentation standards (e.g., ISA, IEC, ANSI) and familiarity with process control systems (e.g., DCS, PLCs, SCADA)
- Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities
- Manage the complete lifecycle of site instrumentation, including installation, calibration, troubleshooting, and decommissioning
- Upload and maintain accurate instrument records in the CMMS, ensuring data integrity, asset tagging, and audit readiness
- Develop, review, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Maintenance Standards for all instrumentation systems
- Lead the technical evaluation, selection, and specification of new instrumentation for future sustaining projects and system upgrades
- Collaborate with design engineers and contractors to implement design updates, ensuring compliance with safety, performance, and operational requirements
- Support root cause analysis of instrumentation failures and recommend preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to reduce downtime
