The Factory Firmware team at Tesla is looking for a Software Integration Engineer to develop and deploy advanced vehicle diagnostic systems for mass production. The role involves designing diagnostic infrastructure and tools to enhance vehicle subsystem testing and validation, ensuring high-quality and reliable vehicles.
Requirements
- Degree in CS, EE, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Strong skills in Python, C++, or TypeScript, with a focus on building tools that interface with embedded hardware
- Familiarity with vehicle communication protocols (CAN, UDS, Ethernet)
- A 'First Principles' approach to troubleshooting
- Experience bringing new products from prototype to a validated, production-ready state
- Familiarity with data visualization and telemetry tools (e.g., Splunk, Grafana, SQL)
Responsibilities
- Architect diagnostic frameworks and develop robust software tools for vehicle ECUs
- Engineer end-to-end diagnostic routines for safety-critical systems
- Build and deploy automated diagnostic agents and scripts
- Leverage vehicle logs and big-data analytics to identify systemic failures
- Ensure diagnostic tooling is modular and scalable for rapid deployment
- Lead specialized engineering projects and implement solutions for technical challenges
