Job description

Join an innovative team at Microsoft to deliver core Copilot Shared Services for Office Apps like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. As a Data Scientist II, you will leverage data science and AI technologies to enhance user experiences and improve experimentation and evaluation techniques.

Requirements

  • Doctorate in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field
  • OR Master's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 1+ year(s) data-science experience
  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 2+ years data-science experience
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements

Responsibilities

  • Define, lead, and implement advanced, repeatable data-driven pipelines and techniques
  • Conduct research projects that directly benefit customers and improve Microsoft’s core productivity products
  • Evolve our approach of prompt engineering, model selection, and evaluation datasets
  • Collaborate with researchers, engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders
  • Generate AI solutions to improve customer experience and internal data insights
  • Teach and guide colleagues in state-of-the-art techniques and research best practices
  • Learn from unexpected outcomes and iterate on hypotheses
  • Share project outcomes and insights through various means
