Job description

Tesla is seeking a Senior Project Development Engineer to design next-generation power infrastructure for mission-critical facilities. This role involves developing preliminary MV distribution concepts, integrating renewable energy and battery storage solutions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable data center operations.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in pre-construction or early-stage project development for mission-critical facilities
  • Strong knowledge of NEC and IEEE standards
  • Proficiency with electrical analysis software such as ETAP, EasyPower, or equivalent
  • Experience designing conceptual redundancy architectures
  • Working understanding of MV switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, and generator configurations
  • Experience with grid interconnection studies and preliminary renewable energy integration
  • Excellent technical communication skills
  • Proven ability to work in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
