Tesla is looking for a Controls Dev Engineer (Robotics) to join the Semi team, focusing on designing and building robotic equipment for manufacturing. The role requires hands-on experience in robotics applications and project management to optimize processes and implement new technologies.
Requirements
- Degree in Robotics Engineering or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of professional robotics experience in the automotive industry
- 2+ years of advanced robotics programming knowledge on KUKA, Fanuc, or equivalent
- Basic PLC programming skills with Siemens, Rockwell or equivalent
- Robotic safety programming including Kuka Safe, DCS
- Proven project management experience
- Proficient in CAD working with electrical diagrams and prints
- Great problem-solving skills and analytical thinking
- Proven interpersonal skills and ability to objectively resolve conflict
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Able to work flexible hours and schedules
Responsibilities
- Design, select, manage, program, and commission automation equipment
- Implement and manage continuous process optimization
- Lead and assist production in all robotics-related topics and issues
- Support maintenance team in troubleshooting difficult breakdowns
- Develop and maintain documentation of all electrical equipment
- Identify weak areas of production systems and implement countermeasures
- Design, implement, and maintain robot vision guidance systems
- Optimize human machine interfaces, SCADA systems, and MES interfaces
- Create and improve equipment safety standards and implement them
