Job description

Tesla is looking for a Controls Dev Engineer (Robotics) to join the Semi team, focusing on designing and building robotic equipment for manufacturing. The role requires hands-on experience in robotics applications and project management to optimize processes and implement new technologies.

Requirements

  • Degree in Robotics Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of professional robotics experience in the automotive industry
  • 2+ years of advanced robotics programming knowledge on KUKA, Fanuc, or equivalent
  • Basic PLC programming skills with Siemens, Rockwell or equivalent
  • Robotic safety programming including Kuka Safe, DCS
  • Proven project management experience
  • Proficient in CAD working with electrical diagrams and prints
  • Great problem-solving skills and analytical thinking
  • Proven interpersonal skills and ability to objectively resolve conflict
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Able to work flexible hours and schedules

Responsibilities

  • Design, select, manage, program, and commission automation equipment
  • Implement and manage continuous process optimization
  • Lead and assist production in all robotics-related topics and issues
  • Support maintenance team in troubleshooting difficult breakdowns
  • Develop and maintain documentation of all electrical equipment
  • Identify weak areas of production systems and implement countermeasures
  • Design, implement, and maintain robot vision guidance systems
  • Optimize human machine interfaces, SCADA systems, and MES interfaces
  • Create and improve equipment safety standards and implement them
