Tesla's Supplier Industrialization team is seeking an experienced engineer to oversee component development and qualification activities at suppliers. The role involves collaboration with internal and external teams, critical decision-making, and travel to various supplier locations to ensure high-quality components are delivered on time for production processes.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering experience
• Experience in Quality Systems such as PPAP/APQP processes is a plus
• In-depth knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and inspection
• Strong technical writing ability and familiarity with SPC and data analysis
• Ability to communicate and direct supplier activities at the management level
• Average of 30 - 40% travel, possibly on short notice

• Plan, organize, direct, and conduct industrialization related activities within the supply chain team
• Develop, manage, audit, improve and correct supplier planning and execution of component manufacturing and assembly techniques
• Provide leadership for New Product Introduction (NPI) at Suppliers and lead supplier improvements in scalability, cost, and quality
• Facilitate communication and clarification of technical requirements between Suppliers and Tesla teams
• Accountable for supplier audits to ensure their ability to meet part performance, delivery, and reliability expectations
• Collaborate with Tesla Design, Quality, and Manufacturing to determine ideal performance specifications and supplier metrics
• Guide suppliers in developing robust processes and procedures for high-quality production
• Validate supplier corrective actions involving design and/or process changes
