Job description
As a Data Engineer at Tesla, you will support critical analysis operations in a fast-paced environment, focusing on people operations and analytics platforms. Your role will involve implementing and maintaining data processes, researching evolving data requirements, and recommending solutions for real-time insights.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science or related fields, or relevant prior experience
- Proficient in SQL, Python
- Comfortable building analytical data models
- Experience automating tasks through Python, SQL and Airflow
- Experience with relational databases like SQL Server, MySQL and Vertica; NoSQL databases experience is a plus
- Experience with Kafka, Apache Spark is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability to design an effective solution
- Ability to support multiple ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communicational skills, organizational skills, negotiation skills, and flexibility to address competing demands
Responsibilities
- Assist with implementation and maintenance of the internal Data and Engineering and reporting processes related to people operations and analytics
- Research and keep abreast of rapidly evolving data requirements, ensuring necessary system and process changes are implemented to meet these requirements
- Identify potential process improvements and recommend implementation strategies for near real-time insights and data intelligence
- Support data engineering initiatives related to internal analytics platform like Ziplabs & Data Works
- Recommend solutions that adhere to industry and Tesla standards, keeping in mind the impact on upstream and downstream system and stakeholders
- Closely monitor the project from inception to completion and assist in User Acceptance Testing
