The role requires problem-solving skills and expertise in structural analysis and design, particularly for concrete and steel structures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 2 - 5 years of work experience in commercial and industrial facilities
  • EIT certification or completion of the FE exam; PE license is a plus
  • Experience conducting structural analysis and design using analytical methods and structural software such as ETABS, SAP2000, RISA-3D, RAM, and ENERCALC
  • Strong knowledge of different structural systems, materials, and construction processes
  • Familiarity with International Building Code, US and Canada National building codes, and other Structural Design standards
  • Proficiency in 2D/3D drafting software, such as AutoCAD and Revit

Responsibilities

  • Serve as subject matter expert of the structural discipline within the Infrastructure Development team
  • Conduct structural analysis and design of concrete and steel structures, including validation and anchorage design for equipment and other non-structural components
  • Create and draft complete structural details, taking full design ownership from concept through construction
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including Design, Engineering, Real Estate, Construction, Tooling, and Facilities
  • Collaborate effectively with external consultants, third-party partners, and vendors to ensure project success
  • Manage and review engineering deliverables and construction documents to ensure compliance with local codes and Tesla specific requirements
  • Develop and improve standards, guidelines, and workflows related to the discipline to ensure structural design is consistent and efficient across all Tesla projects
  • Think outside the box, make technical assumptions, apply engineering judgment, and challenge requirements

Benefits

  • Employees at Tesla are often offered day-one coverage with multiple medical options (some at $0 paycheck cost), dental/vision, company HSA contributions, a 401(k) match, and equity programs. Most roles also include paid time off and holidays, family-building support, employee assistance, commuter and childcare benefits, and access to discounts and wellness programs.
