Tesla is looking for a Senior Structural Engineer with extensive experience in designing semiconductor fabrication facilities. The role involves managing complex structural challenges, ensuring alignment with project requirements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout all project phases.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in structural engineering, with at least 5 years focused on semiconductor fabrication facilities
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in good standing in Texas or eligible for reciprocity; Registered Structural Engineer (SE) license preferred
- Demonstrated expertise in vibration analysis, control, and mitigation for precision equipment
- Familiarity with US building codes (IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC) and semiconductor-specific design standards
- Experience with project delivery in fast-paced, integrated owner-led environments
- Strong communication skills to present complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Responsibilities
- Lead structural engineering design for semiconductor fabrication facilities, including foundation systems for sensitive equipment
- Conduct advanced structural analysis using finite element modeling (FEM) tools for dynamic loads, thermal expansion, and vibration transfer paths
- Provide technical leadership in multidisciplinary design teams, coordinating closely with Civil, A/MEP/F, Process, Controls, and Commissioning teams
- Develop and enforce design standards and procedures specific to high-tech facility construction
- Perform QA/QC reviews of both internal and external design deliverables
- Support project delivery phases including preliminary design and planning estimates
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to senior stakeholders, presenting design options and risk assessments
