Job description

The Systems Firmware Lead Design Engineer at AMD will play a crucial role in driving technical innovation and improving the company's capabilities in firmware development and validation. This position requires collaboration with SoC and platform architects to define power management requirements and test plans. The role involves supervising and mentoring a team of firmware engineers while fostering continuous technical innovation. The ideal candidate will possess strong software systems engineering expertise to support product development and root cause resolution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical or computer engineering
  • Programming/scripting skills in C/C++ and Python
  • Hands-on experience with power management validation, including pre-silicon simulation/emulation and silicon bring-up
  • Extensive knowledge of embedded system firmware development and debugging
  • Experience with RTOS and multicore/multithreaded firmware development
  • Knowledge of SoC architecture and low-power optimization techniques

Responsibilities

  • Drive technical innovation to improve AMD's capabilities across validation, including firmware and simulation model development.
  • Develop and debug firmware for power management features in AMD products.
  • Collaborate with SoC and platform architects to define power management requirements and test plans.
  • Support silicon bring-up and pre-silicon simulation/emulation debug activities.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of firmware engineers, fostering growth through coaching and technical guidance.
  • Lead firmware simulation model development.
