As a SerDes Validation Engineer in the SerDes Technology team at AMD, you will work closely with various Product Development Groups and key technology partners. Your main focus will be on developing characterization and verification test solutions for silicon photonic devices and optical interconnect technologies. This role requires hands-on experience in EIC or PIC characterization and validation, as well as collaboration with cross-functional teams to implement robust test methodologies. You will contribute to the advancement of next-generation computing experiences.

• Hands-on experience in EIC or PIC characterization and validation
• Strong background in silicon photonics and optical interconnect technologies
• Experience with full stack lab instruments such as high-speed scopes, BERT, and VNA
• Experience in mixed signal analysis and issue debugging
• MS or PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Optics & Photonics Engineering

• Bring up and validate silicon photonic devices and optical engines including modulators and photodetectors
• Perform electro-optical characterization including optical power and insertion loss
• Validate Tx/Rx optical paths across temperature, voltage, and process corners
• Correlate lab measurements with simulation and modeling results
• Develop and maintain validation test plans and lab procedures
• Drive root-cause analysis using lab data and optical measurements
