Job description
The AMD Silicon Valley Cores Methodology Team is looking for an engineer to develop and implement AI-driven techniques for the analysis and optimization of next-generation Zen CPU cores. This role involves collaboration with experts throughout the CPU design process, from RTL to tape-out, ensuring impactful contributions to live projects. Requirements
- BS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- Strong physical design and timing background
- Familiarity with industry EDA tools such as PrimeTime, Fusion Compiler, or Innovus
- Experience with structured data including SQL, JSON, and REST APIs
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Tcl, or Perl
- Understanding of CPU microarchitecture is preferred
Responsibilities
- Leverage AI and ML capabilities to develop methods and tools for analyzing and optimizing CPU core PPA across the design hierarchy.
- Accelerate convergence across synthesis, floorplanning, place-and-route, timing closure, and signoff using AI-driven techniques.
- Build and maintain structured databases and web-based dashboards to track and visualize design metrics for multi-tile CPU implementations.
- Develop and improve physical design methodologies and customize EDA tool recipes throughout implementation steps.
- Collaborate with geographically distributed teams across design, CAD, and architecture.
