Job description
The Data Center Project Engineer will be part of a diverse team focused on constructing Amazon Data Centers, which are known for their energy-efficient and cost-effective designs. This role involves daily interactions on construction sites, collaborating with various teams to ensure high-quality delivery of data center construction. The engineer will manage communication with vendors and oversee document management processes. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years of relevant discipline work experience.
- 4+ years of relevant experience constructing and managing complex MEP systems.
- 3+ years of relevant experience managing general contractors and vendors.
- Strong understanding of data center system-level architecture.
- Experience in designing and managing construction of complex data centers.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction specifications and drawings.
- Knowledge of relevant building codes and regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to value engineer.
Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional communication and coordination between contractors and internal teams.
- Develop and maintain tracking systems for design modifications and change orders.
- Evaluate Method of Procedure submissions for thoroughness and risk assessment.
- Manage vendor onboarding processes, including security credentialing.
- Maintain project management software with critical milestone updates.
- Coordinate and monitor owner-furnished material deliveries.
- Establish and manage a centralized repository for construction data.
- Oversee quality assurance programs through implementation of various checklists.
