Job description
As a Data Center Project Engineer at AWS, you will be part of a diverse team focused on constructing energy-efficient and cost-effective data centers. You will collaborate with various teams to ensure high-quality delivery of construction projects while maintaining safety and security standards. This role involves daily interaction with construction managers and stakeholders, emphasizing effective communication and coordination. You will also manage documentation and vendor processes to support the construction of innovative data centers.
Requirements
- 3+ years of vendor management experience
- 4+ years of relevant work in a data center or other critical environment experience
- 5+ years of data center engineering or operations experience
- 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Electrical or mechanical Journeyman License
- Operating engineering license such as DC II, DC III, or equivalent
Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional communication and coordination between regional general contractors, stakeholders, and internal teams.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive tracking systems for design modifications, RFIs, and change orders.
- Evaluate Method of Procedure (MOP) submissions for thoroughness, necessity, and risk assessment.
- Manage vendor onboarding processes, including security credentialing and orientation programs.
- Maintain current project management software with critical milestone updates and document control.
- Coordinate and monitor owner-furnished material deliveries to ensure timely arrival at construction sites.
- Establish and manage a centralized repository for contractor-supplied construction data.
- Oversee quality assurance programs through implementation of various checklists.
