Job description
The Senior Thermal System Architect role at Google involves defining the next generation of Pixel products by addressing thermal challenges through a comprehensive thermal strategy. This position is part of the Pixel System Architecture team, focusing on optimizing user experiences while ensuring product performance and safety. The architect will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze performance data and drive hardware and software design decisions. This role requires a unique blend of hardware and software knowledge, as well as strong communication skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of experience related to thermal engineering.
- Experience with power and thermal measurement tools such as data loggers and thermocouples.
- Experience with Android tools including adb and shell scripts.
- Experience developing Python scripts and simulation models.
- Understanding of mobile devices' thermal constraints and interactions between hardware and software.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional hardware and software teams to optimize the user thermal experience.
- Develop system-level simulation models in Python to project thermal performance.
- Conduct detailed analysis of field telemetries using Python and SQL to inform hardware design decisions.
- Identify key usage patterns and areas of friction to influence thermal work streams.
