Job description

The Off Shift Maintenance Engineer will lead the maintenance team during 2nd and 3rd shifts in Rocky Mount, NC, focusing on equipment reliability and safe work execution. This role involves coaching maintenance personnel and ensuring effective preventative maintenance processes. The engineer will collaborate with Facilities, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering to troubleshoot issues and resolve equipment problems. Additionally, the position emphasizes maintaining spare parts inventory and championing a strong safety culture within the team.

Requirements

  • A college, university, or equivalent degree is required.
  • Intermediate level of relevant work experience is required.
  • Licensing may be required for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support maintenance teams by setting clear expectations and promoting a culture of safety.
  • Coach line employees on foundational maintenance procedures to strengthen technical capability.
  • Partner with Facilities, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.
  • Lead preventative maintenance processes to ensure equipment availability and operational readiness.
  • Maintain spare parts and indirect materials inventory through a computerized maintenance management system.
  • Proactively address equipment performance issues to minimize downtime.
  • Contribute to equipment engineering design evaluations by providing maintenance insights.
  • Drive disciplined maintenance practices that align with plant goals and enhance operational effectiveness.
