Job description

In this role, you will leverage your knowledge of Materials Science, Materials Engineering, or Analytical Chemistry to drive solutions that meet design, manufacturing, and quality objectives. You will work collaboratively across various projects, providing guidance on material selection, failure analysis, and process optimization. The position emphasizes the application of surface engineering principles to enhance component performance and durability. You will also engage in problem-solving activities and communicate findings to support project advancement.

Requirements

  • Must be a full-time enrolled student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited U.S. college or university.
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5 or above is preferred.
  • Must be able to commit to a minimum of 4 to 6 months, with a maximum of 12 months, working 40 hours per week.
  • Must be currently residing within the continental U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize knowledge of materials science and engineering to identify and advance solutions.
  • Work cross-functionally on projects requiring materials and fluids guidance.
  • Apply principles of surface engineering to improve wear, strength, and corrosion resistance.
  • Evaluate component requirements to determine suitable materials and processing options.
  • Select the best-fit manufacturing route and processes aligned with project requirements.
  • Use various analytical methods to investigate product or manufacturing problems.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and communicate analysis results effectively.
