Job description
The Marine Application Engineer will join the Marine Engineering team at Cummins, Inc. in New Orleans, LA. This role focuses on resolving integration and installation issues while improving processes and ensuring high-quality technical decisions. The engineer will serve as a technical liaison for customers, translating their needs into functional requirements. The position requires collaboration with various teams and a strong understanding of marine applications.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or an appropriate STEM field is required.
- Post-graduate (Master's) degree may be required for select roles.
- Entry level/Early career professional status is preferred.
- Relevant experience in a technical discipline area is preferred.
- Knowledge of MS Office tools is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Investigate and resolve integration and installation issues.
- Apply and continuously improve installation and integration processes.
- Use engineering tools and systems to support technical decisions.
- Collaborate and negotiate with SMEs and VPI teams.
- Make product selection, design, and integration decisions.
- Serve as the primary technical liaison for customers.
- Translate customer needs into functional product and system requirements.
- Validate prototypes and installation quality.
