Job description
The Project Engineer - Technical Specialist will serve as a senior technical liaison between Cummins and OEM partners, focusing on ensuring customer needs and product requirements are met during new product development. This role emphasizes high-quality product integration and the application of Cummins products across diverse customer applications. The engineer will also mentor less experienced engineers and lead initiatives to enhance technical capabilities within the team. A strong understanding of power systems and effective communication with technical teams are essential for success.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or an appropriate STEM field is required.
- Post-graduate (Master's) degree relevant to this discipline area may be required for select roles.
- Prior Senior or Lead Engineer equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline area is required.
- Strong technical expertise in machine integration, product application support, and installation quality is necessary.
- Knowledge of MS Office tools is preferred.

- Serve as a senior technical liaison between Cummins and OEM partners.
- Drive high-quality product integration by developing technical specifications.
- Strengthen product performance and installation quality through effective processes and tools.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with customer technical teams.
- Translate the voice of the customer into actionable product requirements.
- Validate prototype machine performance and ensure installations meet Cummins standards.
- Lead customer-focused initiatives and mentor less experienced engineers.
- Provide independent leadership on complex components, systems, or projects.
