Job description
This entry-level position focuses on thermal and fluid sciences, particularly in combustion and emissions science. The role involves investigating product and system problems, applying analytical and experimental approaches to improve performance and architecture. The team supports Specialty tuning for VPI or CPS programs, addressing off-nominal conditions. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to drive project decisions and enhance product effectiveness.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
- Background in Thermal Functional Science, preferably related to diesel combustion.
- Experience with software tools such as MATLAB, GT-Power, and Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of calibration/tuning development and test cell operations.
- Entry-level or early career experience in a relevant technical discipline.
Responsibilities
- Investigate product, system, and technology problems related to thermal and fluid sciences.
- Develop calibration content for off-nominal conditions in VPI or CPS programs.
- Analyze and correlate data to identify discrepancies and derive solutions.
- Make decisions regarding mechanical stress and design limits for engine components.
- Troubleshoot performance problems independently and document results.
