The Embedded Software Engineer role within KLA's RAPID division focuses on developing embedded software for reticle inspection systems. The position requires hands-on technical ownership of software that involves high-speed data capture and low-level hardware interfaces. The engineer will work across the software stack, from Linux user space to kernel drivers, and will collaborate with various teams to deliver reliable software solutions. This is an individual contributor role that emphasizes innovation and quality in engineering practices.
Requirements
- BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of embedded software development experience in an industrial or product-focused environment.
- Strong C/C++ skills and solid software engineering fundamentals.
- Experience with Linux and/or RTOS environments, multi-threading, and embedded software architecture.
- Hands-on experience developing and debugging Linux kernel drivers.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy complex embedded software for machine control in semiconductor inspection systems.
- Implement robust, scalable software for system control, high-speed data acquisition, and image processing.
- Develop and debug Linux kernel drivers and related user-space components for custom hardware.
- Collaborate with mechanical, systems, electrical, and applications teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Champion modern development practices and define test plans to measure subsystem performance.
