Job description

The R2L team at Amazon is seeking a Data Scientist to tackle complex business challenges related to supply chain optimization and customer experience. This role involves collaborating with product managers, engineers, and other scientists to develop innovative statistical and machine learning models. The successful candidate will have a strong background in data analysis and will be responsible for identifying business opportunities and providing actionable insights. The position requires a proactive approach in a fast-paced environment, focusing on improving product availability and reducing supply chain costs.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in engineering, technology, computer science, machine learning, robotics, operations research, statistics, mathematics or equivalent quantitative field.
  • 5+ years of experience with data querying languages such as SQL and scripting languages like Python.
  • Experience in data extraction, analysis, statistical modeling, and communication in a data scientist or similar role.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to present complex technical information clearly.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work with product managers, engineers, and other scientists to identify and prioritize complex problems.
  • Interview stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into data science problems.
  • Design, develop, and evaluate innovative statistics and machine learning models.
  • Establish scalable and efficient processes for large scale data analyses and model implementation.
  • Proactively identify business opportunities and provide solutions based on Amazon data and industry best practices.
