This role involves leading the design and development of accelerated servers for AWS, focusing on high performance and scalability in AI/ML and HPC workloads. You will collaborate with a diverse team of engineers and specialists to meet customer needs and improve existing systems. The position emphasizes innovation in cloud computing and requires a strong background in hardware development. You will also oversee the quality and performance of the servers post-launch.
Requirements
- 10+ years of new hardware products development experience
- 7+ years of server hardware development and troubleshooting experience
- Experience in compute and storage server architecture and design for large scale applications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
- Master's degree or above in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
- Experience with project management of technical projects
- Experience developing and executing test procedures for mechanical or electrical systems/components based on design intent and approved equipment submissions
- Experience in server technologies such as thermal, mechanical, power, and signal integrity
- AI Infrastructure development experience, especially with next generation GPUs
Responsibilities
- Own and lead the design and development of a new segment of accelerated servers.
- Work closely with customers to understand their technical needs and business goals.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to architect solutions for deployment at scale.
- Oversee the fleet of servers developed, monitoring their quality and customer requirements.
- Interface with internal and external customers to understand project requirements.
- Facilitate system development based on server design.
- Learn operational challenges to improve current customer experience.
- Develop improved systems for future designs.
- Work directly with vendors and ODM/JDM design teams to manufacture products at scale.
