The Robotics System Engineer Intern/Co-op at Amazon Robotics plays a vital role in the deployment team, focusing on the installation, troubleshooting, integration, and commissioning of robotic equipment in fulfillment centers. This position requires strong technical skills and collaboration with various stakeholders, including third-party installers and internal teams. The intern/co-op will gain hands-on experience in a field engineering role, working primarily in construction or warehouse environments. Candidates will also have opportunities for travel across the US and potentially internationally.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Currently working towards a Bachelor's or Master's Degree with a graduation date between December 2026 and August 2027.
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program located in the United States with at least one semester left after the co-op.
- Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related STEM field.
- Must be eligible and available for a full-time (40h/week) co-op during the 6-month duration.
- 1-2 years of experience working in a field engineering, construction, manufacturing, or warehouse environment.
- Proven experience working on hardware integration or complex mechanical-electrical or networked industrial equipment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the installation, troubleshooting, integration, and commissioning of Amazon Robotics equipment.
- Collaborate with a team of engineers and an on-site project manager to provide technical oversight during deployments.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to avoid recurrences of issues.
- Lead the development of process documentation and modify existing processes for new products.
- Coordinate with multiple internal and external stakeholders to resolve deployment issues.
- Capture lessons learned and drive technical continuous improvement projects.
- Manage a team of 1-5 engineers during deployments and oversee escalations.
- Deliver projects by owning key KPIs around on-time delivery, cost, quality, safety, and sustainability.
