Job description

This role involves leading the design and development of accelerated servers for AWS, focusing on AI training and inference. You will collaborate with a diverse team of engineers and specialists to deliver high-performance cloud offerings. The position requires interfacing with customers to understand their needs and overseeing the quality of the server fleet post-launch. You will also work with vendors and design teams to manufacture products at scale.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of server hardware troubleshooting and repair experience.
  • 4+ years of hardware design and validation of components, subsystems, and systems experience.
  • Master's degree or above in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience in compute and storage server architecture and design for large scale applications.
  • AI infrastructure hardware development and debugging experience.

Responsibilities

  • Own and lead the design and development of a new segment of accelerated servers.
  • Work closely with customers to understand their technical needs and business goals.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production.
  • Develop and execute test procedures for mechanical or electrical systems/components.
  • Oversee the fleet of servers post-launch, monitoring quality and customer requirements.
  • Interface with internal and external customers to facilitate system development.

Benefits

  • Employees at Amazon are often offered comprehensive health benefits—including multiple medical plan options (no pre-existing condition exclusions, 100% covered in-network preventive care), dental and vision plans, a 24/7 medical advice line from day one, expert second-opinion services, and broad mental-health support with several free counseling sessions (including pediatric). Financial wellness typically includes a 401(k) with company match (up to 2%), Restricted Stock Units (equity), FSAs, an emergency savings program, product and partner discounts, and even college-savings and home-purchase programs. Overall, the package is designed to support employees and their families’ health, finances, and day-to-day life.
