The Civil/Structural Engineer role focuses on transforming data center infrastructure through innovative design and strategic solutions. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that civil systems meet performance and operational standards. This position is part of the AWS Infrastructure Services team, which is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards for safety and security in data centers. You will lead initiatives aimed at improving quality and reducing costs while providing full life-cycle support to AWS Data Centers.

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering with Civil expertise.
• 5+ years of professional experience in commercial, warehouse, and/or industrial new design and remediation.
• Professional Engineer License.
• Experience with building codes and regulations for your region.
• Experience in data center or mission critical facility design.
• Experience using a variety of web-based and other software tools for calculation and data processing.

• Provide full life-cycle support to AWS Data Centers from design inception through site improvement and maintenance.
• Work with a team of multi-disciplinary professionals on a variety of conceptual design, build, and retrofit projects.
• Create, review, and release data center Civil/Structural improvements and designs.
• Drive refinements to the Basis of Design and product development for Civil/Structural systems.
• Serve as a technical advisor for projects including review of underground services and drainage solutions.
• Manage external Civil/Structural design consultants through the audit, design, and implementation of projects.
• Lead initiatives aimed at improving quality, schedule, consistency, or reducing costs.
• Visit project locations in the AMER region and provide subject matter guidance to partnering teams.
