The Senior Software Development Engineer will lead the development of AI and agentic workflows to automate product engineering processes within Amazon's Devices Advanced Manufacturing Engineering team. This role focuses on creating scalable AI/ML solutions for manufacturing, including the integration of robotics and advanced automation systems. The engineer will work closely with team members and third-party integrators to design, implement, and deploy innovative manufacturing solutions. The position requires a strong background in software development, AI technologies, and robotics.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
- 10+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
- 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems.
- Experience working with Data & AI related technologies, including AI/ML and analytics.
- Experience with the full software development life cycle, including coding standards and testing.
- Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Ruby, C/C++/C#, Node.JS, Java, Python, and PHP.
- 7+ years of experience with electrical theory, robotics, and automated equipment.
- Experience with Machine and Deep Learning toolkits such as MXNet, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
Responsibilities
- Innovate, design, and develop AI/ML solutions that scale.
- Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML models and agentic AI workflows to optimize manufacturing processes.
- Develop and integrate computer vision and deep-learning algorithms for automated optical inspection.
- Build and maintain agentic AI systems that autonomously plan and execute manufacturing tasks.
- Troubleshoot issues to optimize manufacturing performance.
- Scale automation solutions working closely with Contract Manufacturers.
- Document software code and specifications for stakeholders.
- Act as the first point of contact for manufacturing software in the US.
- Perform root cause analysis.
- Support defining the automation roadmap for the next 3 years.
